SkirtSports redefines the 5k November 10th in Austin, as the 80’s Rock Review Premiers “She’s so Skirt”

SkirtSports, creators of the original fitness skirt, is excited to announce the “Triple Kranks” have agreed to play at their SkirtChaser 5k Race in Austin. Designed as a fun mixer, the SkirtChaser will bring men and women together who like to “work hard and play harder.” The event will kick off with an all-women’s start, followed by a men’s “skirt chaser” start three minutes later and will conclude with a post-race happy hour.

Kicking off happy hour will be the “Triple Kranks” (www.myspace.com/thetriplekranks), premiering their new song “She’s So Skirt,” based on none other than the women of SkirtSports. Led by the founder of DeFeet socks, Shane Cooper, the band covers classic 80’s tunes and mixes in their own songs as well. After touring in the early 80’s under the name Graffiti, the band reunited in 2004 playing six to eight events per year.

“We’re thrilled to team up with SkirtSports for this one-of-a-kind race and party,” raved Shane Cooper of Triple Kranks. “When we met Nicole DeBoom (Founder of SkirtSports) we knew she was going to change the world of women’s running and wanted to be a part of it….not to mention she’s brought skirts to running, something anyone can appreciate.”

Now open, registration for the SkirtChaser 5K can be found at www.skirtsports.com/race/austin, along with details of pre-race day and race day events. Entries are limited so early registration is encouraged. Participants will receive a Skirt (or SkirtChaser tee), pair of DeFeet socks and a drink ticket with registration.

From all over North America, three Americana songwriters –

Gordie Tentrees Trio from The Yukon and Roger Marin Band from Ontario Canada perform a co-bill at The Saxon Pub November 11 joined by Adam Carroll from Texas for this Austin show.

Currently on a three-week Canada/USA tour with eight dates in Texas including Dallas, Denton, Beaumont, Houston and Gruene Hall, Tentrees and Marin follow a trail blazed by altcountry-rebel Fred Eaglesmith.

In addition to co-writing songs, Adam Carroll previously toured Canada and the northeastern States with Roger Marin.

PRESS RELEASE ROGER MARIN & GORDIE TENTREES CAN/US TOUR OCT. 26 - Nov. 20

Canadian singer-songwriters Roger Marin & Gordie Tentrees are heading south on a 25 date tour from Ontario to Texas this fall. They will be taking their Canadian roots music to cafes, folk clubs, and concert halls across America, Oct. 26 - Nov. 20.

After a chance meeting at a Fred Eaglesmith picnic in 2003, followed by several solo tours together, Roger Marin (guitar, vocals) will have Phil Bosley (bass, vocals) and Matt Keigan (drums, vocals) with him. He will be playing songs from his new album 'High Roads'. On the road since his was 12, he has performed around the world as pedal steel/guitar player for Fred Eaglesmith. He is now hitting the road with his own songs. He recently put together his own music festival in Niagara Falls, Ont.

Joining Gordie Tentrees (guitar, dobro, harp, vocals)for his first border crossing will be Ken Hermanson (lapsteel, guitar, vocals) and Matt King (upright bass, porch bass, vocals). He will be touring in support of his new release' Bottleneck to Wire'. Performing an average of 200 days a year, he has played with Kelly Joe Phelps, Rick Fines and Blackie & the Rodeo Kings.
